Mirrors for the Bathroom

I had been on the hunt for what seemed like forever and was thrilled to come across these ones from <a href="http://www.wayfair.com/Kichler-Wall-Mirror-78162-KI14199.html" rel="nofollow">Wayfair.</a> They perfectly matched the faucets and were narrow enough but still nice and tall. They were just what I had in my head. I love how they look and the girls were quite excited that they could actually see themselves while brushing their teeth! (We had temporarily put a mirror from our last house in here so at least our guests could do their makeup and stuff like that but because of the shape of it when they girls were brushing their teeth they actually couldn't see in the other mirror at all). The best part was they arrived when I was in the middle of my dining room building projects and it was so nice to be able to go upstairs and hang them. It took me five minutes to get them up and was a treat getting to have the instant gratification! I still need to add some simple artwork above the toilet to help break the wallpaper up a bit and add a light fixture above the vanity but other than that this room is basically finished - yay! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; The vanity and wallpaper were actually in okay shape but seeing how we were going to completely demo the floor and bathtub area it made the most sense to start fresh. It turned out much more traditional than I had originally planned but I have to say I really like how it flows with the other rooms upstairs. The color of the body on the birds is almost the same color as the hallway (Moonshine) and the guest bedrooms are a mix of white, gray and black. The mirror was from the master bath in our last house and we haven't found a spot for it yet in this house. I had planned on bringing it up to Jason's house but decided to at least use it in here temporarily until I found what I was looking for. We've had a ton of family visiting lately and I figured they would appreciate having a mirror in here to use. =) Although the mirror is nice, I think it looks too shabby chic in here for my taste and it's hard to tell in these photos but it's not an ideal size/shape. I had to hang it low so that Lillie and Lola could see themselves in it when they are brushing their teeth but because of that it's quite a bit lower than is ideal for most grownups. I also removed the chandelier and hung it down in our laundry room for now because it was too close to the top part of the mirror that sticks out quite a bit. We chose a tile that looks like wood. I was so nervous about choosing it because it seemed a little bit boring and I wasn't sure how it was going to match up to the real wood I am so glad I went with it. I love it and would use it again in a heartbeat! (Also, I plan on added some more ruffles to the bottom of this shower curtain or making one that is a good bit longer so I can hang it higher. I am thrilled with the new tile floor that looks just like wood and we found our vanity on clearance at a local furniture store. It was almost 80% off. Technically it's not quite finished. I still need to add some artwork to the walls but other than that it's pretty much done! We replaced the toilet shortly after moving in and I took down the chair rail and then I kind of got stuck for a while trying to make a decision. I didn't want to chose a new countertop or paint the vanity until I picked out a wallpaper and I couldn't for the life of me find what I had pictured in my head at an affordable price. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I eventually got sick of waiting on myself to make a decision on wallpaper and went ahead and ordered the countertop/sink and faucet last month from Lowe's because I figured it would be safe and go with most anything I ended up picking out for wallpaper. I wanted a marble countertop but after the initial quote on that ended up choosing a product called Evercor which ended up close to half the cost of the marble quote. We chose it in the color Aspen. It came with a free sink and I chose the rectangular undermounted style. That was one thing I didn't have any trouble deciding on. I knew I wanted a square or rectangular sink. I love the way it looks. And then I chose the most inexpensive oil rubbed bronze faucet in 8" widespread style that Lowe's carried. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Then it was back to the wallpaper. I wanted something fun but not too crazy. Something with an interesting pattern (like in <a href="http://dearlillieblog.blogspot.com/2013/09/lillie-and-lolas-new-room-not-quite.html">Lillie and Lola's room</a>) but in relatively neutral colors. Well, I spent close to four months looking and didn't find anything that had that feel I was imagining. Or I should say not anything that was reasonably priced. I ended up choosing the gray trellis pattern by York (I ordered it from American Blinds and Wallpaper because that was the cheapest place I found it).  I wasn't all that thrilled about it when I ordered it but figured at least it would be safe and I was just so sick of staring at the bathroom being stuck looking like it was in mid-renovation so I pulled the trigger. This ended up being the opposite of my stair runner situation (where I loved the pattern until I actually put it on my stairs). Once this went up I ended up being really happy with it. It feels so much more clean and fresh in here! It was nearly impossible to photograph because there is no natural light in this powder room so I don't think it really portrays well here on the computer. It felt really dark and kind of dirty in here before and now I am so much happier with how it looks! So, in the end I m actually really excited about it. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Once I chose the paper I painted the vanity. I used Shenandoah Taupe because I still had plenty of it left over from last year and then added new hardware from Home Depot. I had planned on hunting for something unique but got impatient once the rest of the bathroom came together and just ended up running to Lowe's and Home Depot and those were the ones I liked best. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I just removed the sconces and spray painted them oil rubbed bronze for now. I would like to replace them with something a little more interesting someday but they are fine at this point. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;
