Israeli industrial designer Ariel Zuckerman has made the lighting collection named Folded, a series of lighting that deals with the physical tension applied on a two dimensional sheet. Employing strategies such as folding, stretching and twisting, borrowed from the discipline of paper, and applying them to wooden sheets, led to a novel 3 dimensional look.
The material used to form the lighting is revolutionary. Veneer covered in an acrylic layer, resulting in a organic wooden look but also incorporating the versatile attributes of plastic. The sheets thinness allows the light to pass via it and accentuate the texture.
