Casa Bauzà is a 1-story modern dream house set against the mountains in Pollença, Mallorca, Spain. Created by Miquel Lacomba Architect of the same location, this sprawling property is centered around elegant simplicity.
The elevation is striking, a horizontal linear structure with an intersecting box resting on leading. The facade of sandstone and wood creates a all-natural harmony among the structure and its verdant mountainside surroundings.
With a southern exposure, this dwelling harnesses abundant light all through the day. Realizing this, the architect designed remarkable sliding wooden screens across the property so occupants could customize their light and privacy.
The moment I laid eyes on the central staircase, I was in adore. This huge structure of stunning wood steals the spotlight. Open on a single side generating a wall to the living area and featuring a brushed metal railing on the other, this staircase is itself an artwork. Such unfussy, however dramatic style!
The kitchen is a dream. This u-shaped zone attributes wide upper windows shedding plentiful light and offering exclusive views of the mountain just beyond the house. This culinary space is shared with the dining room and ultimately the living area. This boundariless layout is so ideal for gatherings, but instills a degree of privacy when preparing meals. The secondary bedrooms are positioned just off of this location.
Furnishings are minimalist contemporary and inviting in calm, muted tones of grey and cream. In reality, the entire home is wrapped in this richly neutral palette which plays soothing backdrop to the warm medium woods all through. With glass doors that totally retract, these living areas pour onto the outdoor patio, a lengthy space from which the carpet of grass and turquoise blue swimming pool can be admired. The white, double-bed lounges are to die for!
The beautiful staircase links to the upstairs master suite and loft function space. The bathroom portrays captivating views of the environment and features a floating vanity with wood veneer, a freestanding soaking tub, and, of course, heated towel racks.
Casa Bauzà is a modern day dream home constructed with solid and straightforward lines forming sophisticated flowing spaces.
