Nhabeo Residence was made by Trinhvieta-Architects, and is positioned in Hochiminh City, Vietnam.
The home’s courtyard has a tall tree developing at the center of it, linking both storeys and enabling for light to enter the interior.
Nhabeo Home by Trinhvieta-Architects:
“The house is 4m (13ft) wide by 20m (66ft) lengthy such as 1 semi-basement, 1 mezzanine floor and 3 stories above constructed by RC frame and brick walls with a total of 238sqm (2562sqft) floor area. The idea is to create an “intermediate space” connecting all other functional spaces, this open space is either courtyard, internal void or frequent space semi-opened to the outdoors whilst semi-closed in other to shield the necessary privacy of the residence. Louver Façade and Sliding Glass roofs location made to maximize the connection with outdoors atmosphere overcoming the limitation of getting in touch with the outside for such extended and narrow townhouse. Other more discrete places such as bedrooms and bathrooms expose to this “intermediate space” via the internal void operating throughout the property. These spaces can be opened or closed anytime required.
Greenery is located inside this “intermediate space” such as 3 Babylon gardens supplied with medium height trees which are about 4m (13ft) larger than ground level. These gardens filled with sunlight and winds bring in the relaxing feelings for the people and shorten the distance to nature which is fairly hard for townhouse. Unifying the complete space with the “intermediate space” aids men and women living inside to appreciate these gardens wherever they are within the home. Sub-functional spaces such as garage, storage, technical rooms are situated in the reduce element of the home attached but separated with the actual living space which is located in the upper element to get close to the outdoors atmosphere. Organic ventilation and lighting aids lowering the power successfully.
Common townhouse of Vietnam is influenced by the old habit of old city commercial tradition exactly where every single property tries to get in touch with the front street and resulted in very extended and narrow internet sites with really restricted façade, some of them even smaller sized than 4m (13ft). Comparable examples can be found in 36 streets of Hanoi or ancient town of Hoi An. Expanding in city population today led to the necessity of placing more slabs in the residence and producing them greater, this also makes it harder to make sure the living condition of them which demands organic ventilation and lighting. With the idea of using green “intermediate space”, this project is hoped to be a new model for such type of Vietnamese townhouse offering the folks the enjoyable and relaxing living situation.”
