The British painter Patrick Caulfield is at the moment getting feted with a retrospective at Britain’s Tate Gallery, and don’t we want we have been in London correct now. Caulfied, who died in 2005, studied graphic design, and was an admirer of Le Corbusier—and it shows. Not surprisingly, we uncover his most compelling compositions, distinguished by flat expanses of vibrant colour, to be interior vignettes—featuring graphic still life compositions, repeat patterns and instantly recognizable furnishings icons.
